Is January going to be a slow month for you?

I just came across this from a colleague of mine.

December is typically a slow month for home based businesses. Why not plan for January to be your biggest month ever? Get a jump start now for this month and then enjoy the rewards over the next year. Most people have been too busy shopping, attending parties or going on vacations to even think about January. They don’t see a need until the festive season is over. They tend to procrastinate and wait before building or starting their business. If you put your business on hold until January you will be a step behind. This is where you can step in. Your chief advantage for January is huge. If you don’t prepare now you will be behind. The economy is in the dumps which actually gives you an advantage. People are realizing they have no job security. According to Ann Sieg the typical slow down hasn’t hit yet. This year is different. In January people will be coming online in droves; will you be ready? Will your team be ready?

I'm so excited!

...and I just can't hide it!

I have hesitantly been on the lookout for a new MLM opportunity for the past two months. I've contacted other network marketers I know asking them about various companies and products, and what they recommend.

I have been very hesitant because I know myself enough to know that if I do not believe in the product or service, I'm not going to be able to sustain any kind of momentum. And up until last week I had not seen any product or service that really excited me.

I don't even know how I would classify the opportunity I just signed up for, other than HUGE! I have no product that I really need to sell. I guess you could call it a service. This opportunity is the most unique thing I have ever seen. The potential for wealth creation is enormous.

Yes, I am deliberately trying not to give too much away! But it is going to be the biggest thing to hit the internet since eBay, or youTube, or facebook. And I'm going to make a MASSIVE PASSIVE INCOME from it! Woo hoo! Even better, if they can see the potential, I will be able to help out tons of non-profits in my community and beyond. Hooray for giving back!

Don't Give Up!

I got this inspirational poem in my Inbox this morning and it really touched a chord in me. I'm still a little gun-shy about starting up with any of my mlm companies again, but I'm warming up to the idea. So I wanted to share this poem, partly to remind myself!

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Stop! Take Some Time to Think...

This song, Stop! by Against Me, has been running through my head a lot lately. The chorus, anyway. If you don't feel like clicking the link, the chorus is:

"Stop! Take some time to think. Figure out what's important to you.
Stop! Take some time to think. Figure out what's important to you.
Stop! Take some time to think. Figure out what's important to you.
Gotta make a serious decision."

So I've been doing a lot of thinking. And as hard as it is for me to admit, I'm one of the 97% of people who fail at network marketing.

There are 4 main reasons people fail at network marketing:

1. Lack of money.
2. Lack of the right kind of action.
3. Lack of prospects.
4. Underdeveloped skills.

I'm lacking all 4 right now. I've got no money to market with. I have no time to devote to my business. I don't know anyone who wants to join my business(es). I probably have many of the skills, but I don't have the time to apply them.

So I'm reassessing. Figuring out what is important to me. And right now my business(es) are coming up pretty low on the priority list. So rather than continue to delude myself that I will get to it, and then feeling guilty that I haven't done anything to build my business(es), I'm admitting defeat.

I may pick one or more of them up again sometime in the future. Because I still believe that Network Marketing has enormous potential. But you have to work at it, and right now I can't make that commitment.

Signing off,
Mary

Momentum vs. Inertia

Kung Hei Fat Choi! It's Chinese New Year!

I seem to have fallen off the wagon. I'm not alcoholic or anything like that. No, really. But I have fallen off the mlm wagon. I have done absolutely nothing to build my business for about, hmm, almost two months now. Yay me!

I do have one home party booked for this weekend with one of my businesses, but I didn't do a lot to acquire that one. A friend told me, "This person wants to host a party." I made just a couple of phone calls, and it has been postponed at least 3 times.

Part of me feels guilty for not doing anything--I haven't even loaded leads into my autoresponder for over a month. But every time I think about doing it, that old crown of procrastination falls over my eyes.

Christmas derailed me. I thought I'd be able to pick it back up in January, but my husband and I went to a weekend training course on real estate investing at the end of January, and we had homework to complete before attending.

And whether it is because of that, or because I "don't have a big enough why", (HA!) I just can't seem to get myself motivated to get back into that daily grind. (Maybe I need to go to more meetings...double HA!) To go back to my train metaphor, I don't have the energy right now to put my train back on the tracks.

And that is why they say momentum is so important. It takes so much effort to overcome inertia, that once most people drop the ball, it completely rolls away from them.

And me....

The $20,000 InterNETwork Marketing Contest

I promised the details about this before the New Year, and I'm finally fulfilling that promise. You can read the whole sales letter here.

Renegade Network Marketer Ann Sieg and Site Build It! creator Ken Evoy have joined forces to bring you the way to finally capture the potential (and pride!) of Network Marketing through the reach and networking power of the Internet.

In a nutshell, Ann Seig and Ken Evoy are GIVING AWAY $20,000 in cash (divided 3 ways) to the people who make the best use of Site Build It! and The Renegade Network Marketer system.

Create your own content-rich niche website (with SBI!) to build your own list of warm prospects, and grow your network marketing business. Even if you don't win, you win!

And lucky for you, I can't participate. My site falls outside the time restriction. But I'm still taking advantage of all the training that's being offered (and there's some great stuff there, let me tell you!).

There's a great thread on the SiteSell forum that is just for people helping each other out for this contest. Yep, that's right. Helping each other out--not cutting each others throats or even trying to sell/recruit each other. You can pick your jaw up now.

What are you waiting for? Get started now! It's a win-win-win, with a potential of a HUGE win.

Happy New Year!

I know, I'm a little late in these wishes, but I've been working on the graphic design below.

May you be blessed with infinite abundance
with every step you take in 2008!
